Life Journey and Beyond
December 31st, 2023
In my exploration of grief, I discovered solace in the wisdom shared by Elizabeth Kübler-Ross and David Kessler. Delving into their teachings, I simultaneously tuned into my body’s cues, allowing energetic healing to unfold. This year, the Universe guided clients to me, providing an opportunity to unravel “blocked” grief, and reaffirming my belief in the transformative power of healing and serving others.
In this year’s final newsletter on grief, I share five realizations drawn from the intricate tapestry of loss. These insights gently navigate my learnings through Kübler-Ross’s stages, David Kessler’s compassionate perspectives, and my journey in finding meaning after loss.
1. Denial(Not Facing it Yet): Initially, confronting loss involves avoiding its harsh reality. This acts as a temporary shield, granting the needed time to gradually accept the absence and initiate the healing process.
2. Anger(Transformative phase to change): Anger is not always negative; it serves as a force propelling us forward. It challenges our perspectives, urging recognition of the inherent unfairness of loss and fostering movement towards acceptance.
3. Bargaining(Trying to change what can’t be changed): Attempts to negotiate or find solutions in moments of lost control are part of the grieving process. Realizing the limits of change becomes a crucial step towards acceptance.
4. Depression(Feeling really down): Often perceived as an endless low, depression provides a space for introspection. It’s an opportunity for self-reflection, allowing the lost love to find meaning and purpose in life.
5. Acceptance (Slowly getting okay): Acceptance isn’t an immediate occurrence but a gradual realization. It enables the integration of loss into our lives without overwhelming our journey forward, a method of moving ahead while acknowledging the persisting pain.
From my personal experience, I can say that going through tough times like grief can help us understand and heal the deep parts of our minds where we keep things hidden. It’s like fixing parts of ourselves that we may not even realize need fixing.
Despite the available support, some may linger in grief, staying in pain and hurt. Grief has no timelines but yet I am called to prompt a call to action – offering support and education that is needed to navigate life after loss.
If you or someone you know is seeking guidance on a transformative journey towards solace and peace within loss, I offer support to coach you on a transformative journey of healing and truly helping you move forward in your life. Together, we can serve as catalysts for greater healing!
